Friday night saw the Sliders don their disguise for the first time and proceed to do damage to the dancefloor of Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms. It was the first ‘official’ outing for the block-rocking duo and despite a few technical issues (yeah, thanks Final Scratch!), their debut will be one to be remembered by many - I mean, how often have you gone out and been entertained by Richard Nixon & Ronald Reagan?
For 90 minutes Spectrum was treated to a quality 4-deck mash-up of hip hop, breaks, drum’n’bass, dancehall and even a bit of punk. Tune of the night had to be Bigger Than Hip Hop (it’s safe to say that it has become a true dancefloor anthem) and was played again by Pete Jordan in the main breaks room 5 minutes after the Sliders finished. Also, Delirium Funk played another one of the Sliders new tunes during his live performance upstairs in the Red Room.
It seems the Sliders are in demand...
